REQUIRED / DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
HND or Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualifications and experience.
Proven extensive experience in P&C design of substations in UK
Good knowledge of electrical codes and standards
AutoCAD capability
Full UK Driving Licence.
Track record for managing design and work independently

KEY DUTIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Knowledge of distribution/transmission HV design process and related project experience.
Extensive experience in P&C FEED or detailed design of high voltage installations up to 132kV.
Experience designing the HV infrastructure across the full project lifecycle from feasibility to detailed design.
Ability to work flexibly across multiple projects at same time.
TECHNICAL ASPECTS / PRE-CONSTRUCTION
Development of specifications with technology specific specialists and external project partners.
Design assurance during tender evaluation. Supplier meetings.
Manufacturing assurance audits that manufacturing is following technical design, attending FAT.
Commissioning support - Fault resolution support
Knowledge of testing of electrical equipment's checking SAT, FAT reports
GENERAL DUTIES:
Preparing and carrying out detail design works including the protection and control aspects of different projects and responsible for : SLD, KLD, MCP
Relay list
GA and BOM for protection panels
Checking supplier drgs and data sheets with overall scheme and interface design with customer and DNOs
AC/DC schematics,
AC/DC wiring diagrams
Functional specifications
Setting reports
Coordination and discrimination studies
Network architecture
SCS
Cable sizing and voltage drop, (Not essential)
LVAC and LVDC load calculations and sizing
Technical specification for P&C equipment
Battery and UPS systems sizing and checking of vendor DRGs
Carry out CDAE for P&C discipline
Ability to attend and chair the design review with Client and Hazard review meetings and reviewing P&C design packages as required.
Attending site visits, FAT and SAT as required.
