JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join the dynamic team of a leading heavy civil construction contractor operating across varied core market segments encompassing; Underground Utilities, Transportation, Site Development, Water & Wastewater, Irrigation & Flood Control, Bridges & Structure

In this role, you will play a crucial part in the success of an array of key civil construction projects by accurately estimating time, cost, and labor requirements.

Your expertise will guide critical decisions and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor of Science degree in Construction or Civil Engineering is preferred. A minimum of five years of experience in estimating or a related field is required.

  • Technical Skills: Strong understanding of construction methodologies, techniques, principles, and processes. Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.

  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in relevant estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Other Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license.



RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Estimate Development: Analyze blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other project documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates, including time, materials, and labor.

  • Cost Analysis: Evaluate cost-effectiveness, track actual costs against bids, and conduct special studies to optimize cost reduction strategies.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with engineers, owners, contractors, and subcontractors to discuss estimates, resolve issues, and manage changes.

  • Client Communication: Consult with clients and vendors to formulate accurate estimates and address any concerns.

  • Documentation: Prepare detailed itemized lists of material and labor requirements, and maintain accurate records of cost factors and estimates.

  • Project Evaluation: Visit project sites to gather information and assess progress.

  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to long-term plans and participate in marketing efforts to promote the company's services.
