ABOUT THE ROLE:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Project Engineer to join the thriving Water/Wastewater & Heavy Civil departments of a leading contractor.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

You will collaborate closely with Project Managers and Superintendents, providing essential support in scheduling, cost control, and project administration.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Education & Experience: BSc degree in Civil Engineering or a related field is preferred. A minimum of three years of relevant experience in project engineering or a similar role is required.

  • Software Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Primavera (Suretrak) scheduling software.

  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of construction equipment, methods, and governmental requirements. Experience with water/wastewater projects is a plus.

  • Other Requirements: Valid driver's license.


 
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  • Project Scheduling: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera software, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of progress and any changes.

  • Cost Control: Monitor project costs, investigate discrepancies, and prepare progress estimates.

  • Change Management: Process change orders and manage force accounts and back charges.

  • Project Administration: Attend project meetings, prepare minutes, and assist with project closeout activities, including quantity take-offs and as-built documentation.

  • Communication & Collaboration: Effectively communicate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients, ensuring smooth project execution.
