Our client is a large multi-utilities contractor across the Power, Telecoms, Gas and Water sectors. They are looking for an experienced and accredited NRSWA Site Supervisor to undertake various Major Projects & customer connections in and around Slough, Iver, Wexham & Saunderton




REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • NRSWA Supervisors accreditation

  • PIA qualifications: SA002 & SA007


ROLE OVERVIEW

  • To oversee day-to-day operations at the site level on specifically assigned activities and /or work streams associated with the contract providing civil, PIA and cable installation services.

  • To manage and ensure the efficient and economic use of resources, materials, transport, plant and equipment to its best potential.




PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for the supervision of the project and effective deployment of resources to ensure works are delivered incident-free, in compliance with company policy and procedures, client specifications and standards, to programme and within budget.

  • Where identified implementation of cost effective innovations to the business and liaison with Estimators and Surveyors to provide operational and technical support.



ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure necessary plant, equipment & materials are available for teams to carry out works on behalf of the company.

  • Ensure necessary materials are delivered to site in a timely manner.

  • Ensure sites are clean and tidy and meet all service, agency and health and safety requirements at all times.

  • Compliance with any Local Authority Permit Conditions.

  • In the event of any Utility damage, ensure that the ‘Utility Report Damage Report form version 2 is completed and a copy sent to Head Office. Alternatively, ask your SHQE advisor for a copy (along with any other health & safety information).

  • Ownership of assigned projects, responsible for ensuring Contract administration following the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) and Contract Terms & Conditions.

  • Promotion and implementation of SHEQ policies and procedures.

  • Ensure that all employees working on the project are trained in safety & environmental emergency awareness.

  • Participation in the delivery of Site Safety Briefings, alerts, Memos, and Toolbox Talks etc.

  • Ensure RAMs (Risk Assessments Method Statements) are briefed and being adhered to.

  • Ensure teams are carrying out “Site Specific Risk Assessments”. Review and sign on for every visit.

  • Ensure teams have a copy of the most up-to-date Utility Drawings (no more than 3 months old from date of issue).

  • Ensure that trial holes have been undertaken (where practicable) and if appropriate for this project.

  • Ensure that a safety audit is carried out at least once a month.

  • Ensure the ground has been marked so as to identify known Utility services.

  • Ensure operational and technical support is given to the team leader and operatives.

  • Ensure Employee Timesheets, Labour and Plant & Transport Return sheets are completed and given in on time.

  • Identifying opportunities for the introduction of innovations and industry products.

  • Request plant on-hire/off-hires through contact with the procurement department.

  • Monitoring and review of site training records.

  • Enforce the company's Yellow and Red card disciplinary procedure where applicable.

  • Ensure continuous improvement in client relationships & visibility on site.

  • To support the contract in its compliance under CDM (where applicable).

  • Report all accidents to the SHEQ department.

  • Encourage the reporting of Near Misses.

  • Meeting Clients and any site Facility Managers to survey for internal penetration of buildings and enclosures.

  • Where our works infringe on other companies within the same site, ensure that regular communication channels are open.

  • and full awareness made of our works and possible impact on surroundings, communities and environment..




QUALIFICATIONS / COMPETENCY

  • CSCS and or EUSR Card for appropriate level of responsibility / competency.

  • Minimum 2 year’s experience in a Supervisory position.

  • Supervisors accreditation NRSWA.

  • Preferably SMSTS or SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme).

  • PIA qualified -SA002 & SA007.
