Water Repair and Maintenance Operative
Various Midlands Locations:
Birmingham/Nottingham/Coventry/Telford/Warwickshire
£180 - £200 per day


ROLE OVERVIEW:

You will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of our client’s water network across the West Midlands. You’ll be tasked with the upkeep of the Clean Water Network and carrying out repairs of Clean Water Main Assets. You will be conducting excavation on public highways, specific sites and private lands.

As a Water Repair and Maintenance Operative, you will be required to operate machinery on-site, using the latest technology to help  with our data upkeep.


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous Groundworks and Repair & Maintenance experience required.

  • NRSWA Streetworks (full)

  • NPORS- Slinger Banksmans

  • EUSR Water Hygiene

  • EUSR Shea Water

  • Emergency First Aid at work

  • Abrasive wheels

  • Asbestos Awareness

  • NPORS 360 excavator up to 10tonne

  • Experience using standard groundwork equipment such as Abrasive Wheels, Cable Avoidance Tools ETC (Preferred.)

  • A full UK driving License.



MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • You will be responsible for the delivery of work scheduled in accordance with service level agreements or customer service standards.

  • Show a duty of care to your colleagues and anyone affected by the work you are carrying out and be accountable for your own health & safety.

  • You will be expected to determine and balance the risk and impact to customers, the public and road-traffic users, in relation to the work you are carrying out, ensuring compliance with our statutory, regulatory and company standards.

  • Work safely and operate in compliance with safety policies and safe systems of work. Perform the duties of the role in compliance with statutory or regulatory standards, e.g. hygiene, NRSWA (New Roads and Street Work Act) and environmental.

  • You will deliver outstanding customer service, aiming to deliver the job right the first time, consistently putting the needs of the customer first.

  • Undertake the full range of duties involved in delivering an effective repair and maintenance service, examples of which are the repair and replacement of existing water mains, laying, replacement, repair and cleaning of services, repair and replacement of ancillary assets, valves, washouts, air valves, meters, PRVs, including compliance with all the necessary safety, statutory and regulatory standards.

  • Operation of simple, low-risk valves.
